Austin Child Guidance Center

Austin Child Guidance Center (ACGC) is an outpatient counseling agency for children and families. The Center is one of the first trauma-informed agencies in Central Texas, and is leading the TICC initiative in our community. ACGC’s entire system of care – from intake to treatment - is trauma sensitive. ACGC offers individual, family, and group therapy to children and families. For trauma survivors, ACGC provides Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy; two of the most research supported therapies for those who have experienced trauma. The Center offers services in a warm, friendly, collaborative environment  that focuses on families’ strengths and needs. ACGC also offers services to children dealing with other issues including anxiety, depression, school difficulties, family/life adjustments, behavioral issues, and other childhood problems.  Additionally, ACGC provides psychological assessments, psychiatric evaluations (for clients in ACGC counseling), parent workshops, and professional trauma trainings.  Since 1951, Austin Child Guidance Center (ACGC) has been dedicated to improving the mental health of children and their families.
