The Bell/Lampasas Counties Community Supervision and Corrections Department is responsible for supervising approximately 3150 felony and misdemeanor probationers. The CSCD also offers programs
and services to address the problems of these probationers that contributed to their involvement in the criminal justice system. Many of these contributing problems involve substance abuse and
mental and emotional issues. These problems in turn are often caused by prior physical, emotional and psychological trauma. To effectively address the issues confronting our probationers and to
assist them in living productive and law-abiding lives, this department is in the process of implementing trauma-informed care in both its organizational structure and in the treatment programs
and counseling services it offers for those probationers who have been identified as having suffered some form of trauma in their lives.
